  • Ergonomics- what it is all about

    Ergonomics is a science that deals with the individual and his work environment. It is a study of individual’s activity in work or at home. It involves the study of the postures, blood circulation aspects, back problems and issues related to individual’s physical limitations. In simple words it helps people to do their work more efficiently and with fewer chances of injury and illness. By using Ergonomic principles one can reduce stresses and strains on the body which ultimately helps health and safety of the individual and organization.

    Physical ergonomics is concerned with human anatomical, anthropometric, physiological and biomechanical characteristics as they relate to physical activity.
    Cognitive ergonomics is concerned with mental processes, such as perception, memory, reasoning, and motor response, as they affect interactions among humans and other elements of a system.
